Magnesium Saildrive Anodes
We stock a leading range of saildrive anodes, suitable for use in fresh water as there is a lower open circuit potential. Unlike zinc saildrive anodes and aluminium saildrive anodes, magnesium anodes react rapidly when exposed to seawater, which is why they should only be used in fresh water.
Installed onto the saildrive of your vessel, the magnesium anodes are made of a more reactive metal, so will act as a "sacrifice" to protect the saildrive from corrosion.
