Bolt-on Hull Anode
A bolt-on hull anode is a type of anode that is attached to the hull of your vessel using anode fixing bolts. The main benefit of a bolt-on hull anode is that, unlike weld on hull anodes, bolt-on anodes can very easily be installed without the need for any specialized tools or equipment. In addition, when the anode is depleted, it can also then be easily replaced.
Suitable for use in zinc and fresh water, aluminium bolt-on hull anodes have a nominal electrical capacity three times higher than the same mass in zinc bolt-on hull anodes, enabling to you to use significantly less aluminium anodes than you would zinc anodes. As magnesium is a far more reactive metal than aluminium and zinc, magnesium bolt-on hull anodes are only suitable for fresh water.
